A Few T-Storms Still Around Today; Cold Front Crosses State Saturday

The atmosphere is starting to dry out across the state, but that does not mean a completely dry forecast.  Isolated thunderstorms are still expected on the eastern plains.  The threat for severe weather is much less today, but be aware that around thunderstorms strong, gusty winds, frequent lightning and hail are all possible.

The wind will pick up today in portions of central and southern Wyoming, where southwest winds could gust to 35 and 40 mph at times.  Portions of central Wyoming are under a Red Flag Warning through 9pm tonight due to dry conditions and low relative humidity.

The wind will continue to be strong in eastern counties for the start of the weekend.  Southwest winds up to 35 mph or better will also make for very toasty temperatures in the east.  Some areas will see the upper 80s and lower 90s Saturday afternoon.

A cold front starts to push through western Wyoming on Saturday, bringing showers and thunderstorms to northern and western counties during the day.  Central and southern Wyoming could see a few gusty thunderstorms Saturday night.

The front will usher in cooler conditions statewide on Sunday.  Additional showers are expected in the north.
