The figures released by the state show a decline in people dying on Wyoming highways, as compared to the 2015 figures.

42 deaths have been recorded through June on state roadways compared to 66 deaths at this time last year.

More people  wearing seat belts has attributed to the decrease in highway deaths. Of the 39 crashes where one person has died, a majority weren't wearing a seat belt.

Another cause of the decrease is the downturn in the energy industry, which has lead to less traffic on Wyoming roadways.
