As if you didn't know, April 20th has basically become adopted an an holiday for marijuana awareness. That's right, awareness and nothing else. And, although it's legal to smoke a little in Washington and Colorado, it's still illegal in the rest of the US, including California where a student caught video of his policeman holding this two pound joint.
I'll best honest, I didn't know Roger Ebert. Sure, I knew of him, but wasn't a follower of his. I didn't care if he thought a movie was good or bad. I didn't watch his show. I do know that he had one of the coolest jobs in the world and definitely struggled at the end of his life. All too recently, they're showing pictures of what he looked like near the end of his days, after surgery missing his jaw and all that. I'd rather remember him for this picture. Just some dude who doesn't look like a super model or fashion plate who loves what he did.

Today the movie industry is at a loss with the passing of Roger Ebert. A movie can make or lose a million dollars all in the power of his thumb, but he also used his thumb playing video games, apparently. In this Holiday Gift Guide from 1989, Ebert admits that he was obsessed with playing TMNT to the point that it made him unhappy.
