Say that five times fast... "bountiful beargreass bloom". It's true though, this year there is a ton of beargrass in bloom.

3,000 to 8,000 feet above sea level is when and where beargrass can bloom. They say the right mix of elevation, temp and shade can make it prosper but I found more bloomed in the sunnier areas but did see a ton of just-starting-to-bloom ones in the shade.

it is known for blooming mainly in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado. Some are even saying it's the best beargrass bloom in decades.

Seeleylake.com has an article on this years beargrass bloom. "
Bears eat the tender leaf shoots in early spring but by summer those leaves get tough with sharp edges and the only ones brave enough to eat them are mountain goats" says Randi de Santa Anna
