Police say they're looking for a man that robbed a downtown Casper bank.

Chief Chris Walsh with the Casper Police Department says an investigation is underway into the armed robbery of the River Rail Federal Credit Union. Walsh says the man robbed the bank at 555 S. Wolcott St. at around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the suspect is near six feet tall with a slender build, had black face paint around his eyes and a white bandana obscuring the rest of his face. He was dressed in either a blue or black hooded sweatshirt and was carrying a grey backpack.

The suspect was last seen heading east from the bank on foot. He remains at large.

Walsh would not disclose how much money was taken from the bank. He also would not say what the robber was armed with.

Police have reduced their perimeter which, at one point, spanned several South Wolcott and South Durbin Street blocks.

Those with more information are urged to contact the Casper Police Department at (307) 235-8278.

Natrona County School District officials say students were allowed to leave school Wednesday at the normal bell time, but students who normally walked home near the scene were required to have a parent pick them up.
