Police say that a robbery took place at Casper's downtown Rialto Theater.

Details are few at this time.

According to Casper Police Lt. Steve Schulz, officers received a report of an armed robbery at the Rialto, shortly after 7:00 PM, Friday night.

"There was an armed robbery and the suspect fled on foot," Schulz said.  "There was contact made with the clerk, by the suspect, at one point demanded cash or made a statement to the fact that it was a robbery.  The suspect left after they received the cash."

Several police cars were seen in the downtown area shortly following the robbery.

The theater was scheduled to screen the film 12 Years a Slave at 7:45 PM, Friday night.  That screening did not take place.
