One person was taken to the Wyoming Medical Center for treatment as a result of a fire in an apartment in a house in the 100 block of North Fenway Street on Sunday evening.

Casper Fire-EMS crews responded to the report at 6:45 p.m., and dispatched all units, department spokesman Andrew Sundell said.

The basement apartment of the five-unit building was fully engulfed, and was quickly extinguished.

The person taken to the hospital before the fire units arrived. The patient had burns and singeing to his chest, face, and head.  His status is unknown at this time.

No one else was found inside the building.

However, fire crews were poking holes in the overhang of the roof to release residual smoke.

The downstairs apartment was a complete loss.

The other units appeared undamaged. But the other residents were displaced to make sure there was no other danger.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, investigators are still working on scene at this time.
