A Casper man was sentenced to prison for breaking into a liquor store.

Joseph Rieke heard the two-and-a-half-year to three-and-a-half-year sentence for burglary handed down by Natrona County District Court Judge Daniel Forgey on Wednesday.

The case began in late March when Rieke and a friend went to the Outlet Liquor on North Poplar Street after it closed. They found a large hole broken into a wall of the store and Rieke went inside.

The store manager arrived a short time later, noticed the wall had been breached and saw the silhouette of a man outside.

Officers found Rieke sleeping on the lawn of the nearby Dairy Queen.
