The higher spring temperatures in the region are allowing Casper and Wyoming Department of Transportation crews to continue to repair the pervasive potholes, according to a news release from the city's public service department.

The city repairs potholes on its maintained streets.

WYDOT conducts repairs on all state highways and the federal interstate highway system, including those roads that are also streets within the city.

Potholes are created when water enters cracks and then freezes. The expanded ice can break concrete and asphalt.

Many of these potholes have been forming gradually over the last few months and are now able to be repaired due to warmer weather.

Residents may report potholes by calling the streets division at 235-8283.
