Casper Youth Basketball Tournament

That time again - if you've got roundball skills, reminder that registration is open for the 21st annual Casper Youth Basketball Tournament.   Here's the info:

The City of Casper Recreation Division, in conjunction with the Community Recreation Foundation and the Casper Area Convention and Visitors Bureau will host the Casper Youth Basketball Tournament on Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, March 20, 2011 at several locations throughout Casper.   The deadline to register a team is March 4, 2011.     The price to register is $140 per team.

The team fee includes a 3-game guarantee, a free throw competition on Friday night, and free admission to a pool party on Saturday night at the Casper Aquatics Center.    This massive tournament typically features over 145 teams from Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Colorado.

All tournament games are officiated by NFHS registered officials. The tournament is bracketed in a modified consolation format; therefore, all teams are guaranteed at least three games with most teams playing many more. Teams winning their first game but losing their second will be moved into a super consolation bracket.

Over the two day basketball extravaganza, hundreds of games will be played using different courts at gyms throughout Casper.    Proceeds generated from this tournament benefit the Community Recreation Foundation to provide scholarships and recreational programs for youth and seniors in Casper.    All teams outside of Natrona County who register by February 18, 2011 will be entered in a drawing to win 5 free room nights courtesy of the Ramada Plaza Riverside Hotel.      Discounted hotel room rates are available for those attending the tournament.
