People interested in becoming a candidate for the nonpartisan Casper City Council will be able to file from May 12 – 27, according to a news release from the city.
Of the nine council seats, six will be on the ballot: Ward I – 3 seats; Ward II – 2 seats; Ward III – 1 seat.

Ward I is in central Casper, and generally includes the area east of South Poplar and west of Beverly Street from Fourth Street north and South Conwell Street from Highland Cemetery south. Ward III is east of that. Ward II is west of South Poplar Street. The city has a ward map on its website.

The City Clerk is the municipal elections officer and assists municipal candidates with the filing of nomination papers. Municipal elections are conducted through the Natrona County Clerk's elections office.

Candidates must file an “Application for Nomination by Primary” form with a nonrefundable filing fee of $25 at the city's Finance Customer Service office or the information
desk at Casper City Hall, 200 N. David Street.

The filing deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, May 27. The Finance Customer Service office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Filing forms also are available online through the Secretary of State’s office.

A list of received applications will be posted on the City of Casper website on the WyoCity Glance page. The list will be updated daily at 4 p.m. from May 12-27. The final list will be posted on Monday, May 30.
