City of Casper officials have closed two tree branch collection sites.

Pete Meyer, Casper’s assistant public services director, says branch collection sites at the University of Wyoming Agriculture Extension Office on Fairgrounds Road and the North Casper Recycling Depot on K Street have been filled.

Three new branch collection sites have been opened: One on Wyoming Boulevard near Fairside Road, one at the corner of 25th Street and McKinley Street and one on Brian Stock Trail north of K Street.

Meyer says roughly 48 workers from the city’s public services department put in 12-hour shifts on Saturday trying to clean up debris. He also says city workers will conduct 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. cleanup shifts on Sunday.

The record storm on Thursday and Friday dumped over 16 inches of snow at the Casper-Natrona County International Airport. Motorists and hunters have also been stranded.

Update 5:30 p.m. Sunday: City officials reopened the tree branch collection site at the University of Wyoming Agriculture Extension Office on Sunday.
