Not too much in Hip-Hop gets past me. Whether it's news, gossip or the latest in fashion, even while staying in Wyoming (or as some of my out-of-state peers have nicknamed it: The Land That Time Forgot), I stay in the loop. But one major Hip-Hop fashion managed to slip by me: custom clay jewelry!!!

The first major appeal of clay pendants for me at least is the ease at which they can be customized. Anything you can think of can be made. Second, the size of the pieces are extremely large, especially in comparison to conventional precious medals. I would attribute this mostly to the fairly inexpensive cost of the materials. If I had to guess, I would say the majority of the cost has more to do with the labor in crafting the individual pieces themselves. Regardless, the end results are one of a kind creations in flamboyant sizes and colors that fit the style of the wearer. And they have a nice "bling-worthy" shine to them as well.

*I wore mine to go grocery shopping in, just to see how much attention it would garner... quite a lot, and from all age ranges!!!*

Unless your last name is Carter (i.e. Shawn Carter a.k.a. Jay Z and/or Dwayne Carter a.k.a. Lil Wayne), you probably can't afford tens of thousands of dollars on a gold custom made pendant. But if you still crave something shiny and original, then I'd advise you to check out the clay route. They look just as good and won't break your bank account.
