The relative humidity is low, the air mass overhead is very dry, it will be hot and the wind is starting to pick up in portions of the state.  All of this has lead to a Red Flag Warning that is been posted for much of the state through 9pm tonight.  Southwest winds sustained at 15 to 25 mph will gust to 35 and 40 mph in the lower elevations, to near 50 mph in the higher elevations.

There is only a slight chance of precipitation today in the southwest, where a few gusty thunderstorms are expected later today.  There is some good news on the precipitation front for Tuesday.  A cold front will move through the state tomorrow, which will trigger a few thunderstorms mainly along and to the south of I-80 and in the far west.  Tuesday will also be cooler with highs mainly in the 70s for the lower elevations and 60s in the higher elevations.
