CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A former Casper high school library worker who has been charged with abusing her daughter may agree to a plea deal in the case.

The trial for Roberta Shane was set to begin Monday, but her attorney notified the court of a possible plea change in the case. Shane, a former library media technician at Roosevelt High School, pleaded not guilty to child abuse and endangering a child in May.

Her then-9-year-old daughter told police she had been repeatedly locked in the family's garage and forced to sleep on a cot in the laundry room. A child psychologist who examined the girl told authorities she showed signs of emotional abuse and hadn't received adequate food.

Shane's change of plea hearing hasn't yet been set.
