Greiner Motor Company has provided Casper and Wyoming with Ford products since 1970. In 2007, a branch was added in Douglas as an outlet for Ford, as well as Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles.

Oil and coal prices have presented their own set of challenges to the entire state, and Greiner has felt the effects as well. In addition to the economy, Greiner has worked through many issues (some internal, some external) in their Douglas dealership. As many have seen in newer vehicles today, technology is king. And as such, they have faced the issues of staffing, training, and tooling to handle and properly service these technological advancements. Furthermore, the Douglas dealership has two separate manufactures in one location, in effect doubling the challenge. All across the country, smaller dealerships are experiencing this same problems and losing the battle to larger dealerships with much the same cost structure. Most recently in Wyoming, another longtime dealer was faced with the closing of its Ford dealership in the community of Rawlins.

Regrettably, Greiner will be closing the Douglas dealership effective April 30, 2016. Despite this closure, Greiner Motor Company will remain in Casper with their Ford and Lincoln Dealership at 3333 CY Avenue and their Buick, GMC, and Cadillac Dealership at 6301 E. Second Street.
