The Wyoming Highway Patrol seized another large stash of marijuana during a week of other major interdictions, according to a news release from Patrol Sgt. David Wagener.

Conor P. McNamara, 27, was driving on U.S. Highway 212 just south of the Montana border when the mid-sized sport utility vehicle he was driving left the highway and crashed about 5 p.m. Saturday, according to the news release.

McNamara was wearing his seat belt and sustained only a minor injury.

During the crash investigation, a trooper discovered McNamara had removed multiple bags from the SUV and hid them in a nearby culvert. The bags contained 40 pounds of marijuana.

The Highway Patrol and agents with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation arrested McNamara, who was taken to the Crook County jail in Sundance.

McNamara, who is from Brattleboro, Vt., has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Law enforcement authorities also seized $2300 in cash during the investigation.

The investigation has been turned over to the DCI.
