The Wyoming Highway Patrol seized 19 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 west of Laramie on Wednesday, according to a prepared statement.

A trooper stopped an eastbound sport utility vehicle for speeding near mile post 288 at 9:23 a.m., according to the news release Friday from Patrol Sgt. David Wagener.

During the stop, the trooper established reasonable suspicion of illegal activity and called in a K-9 dog named Frosty.

The K-9 alerted a controlled substance was in the SUV. Troopers searched the vehicle and found 19 pounds of marijuana, less than one gram of suspected cocaine, and more than $3,000 in cash.

Troopers took into custody Zachary Sasz, 24, of Waterford, N.Y., and Barry Connor, 25, of Clifton Park, N.Y.

They were taken to the Albany County Detention Center in Laramie and have been charged with felony possession of marijuana, felony possession with intent to deliver, and misdemeanor possession of suspected cocaine.

The marijuana is believed to have originated out of Reno, Nev., and was destined for the Albany, N.Y., area. It has an estimated street value of about $80,000.
