Highway Patrol To Post Arrests On Social Media

The Wyoming Highway Patrol will be conducting an impaired driving and traffic safety campaign — #DoNotGetHashtaggedByWHP — during the New Year’s weekend using social media, according to a news release.
The campaign intends to deter motorists from driving impaired and to practice safe driving habits over the holiday weekend.

The Highway Patrol will post up-to-date arrests for driving under the influence and other safety-related traffic stops statewide using the hashtag #DoNotGetHashtaggedByWHP.

The Highway Patrol wants to reduce impaired driving, impaired driving crashes, and to increase safe driving habits so motorists aren’t “hashtagged” with their arrest or traffic stops being posted on its Facebook and Twitter accounts.

The campaign will also give social media viewers the opportunity to see what troopers, dispatchers and Port of Entry officers do daily.

This campaign also coincides with a DUI regional task force program on New Year’s Eve with Cheyenne-area law enforcement and troopers.
