How Much Money is Lost on March Madness

Ah the love of sports and the gamble. It draws in a lot of people every year. Talking about March Madness. Every person talks about how much money and time is wasted on the madness of the NCAA basketball tournament.

Reading an article on reliableplant.com shows that $1.7 billion in wasted work time happen during the tournament, over 16 days. They estimate over 37 million Americans are participating in pools and brackets. Review Journal shows that the Bloomberg News reported that 9 billion dollars would be gambled by 40 million people.

We have an office pool we are encouraged to participate in so sometimes work is ok with the lack of productivity to play and enjoy. It can be a morale booster and also a bummer if you start losing out.
