In probable the most insane news I've heard in awhile, Insane Clown Posse (ICP) is set to sue the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over classifying their fans, known as Juggalos, as a gang.

Growing up in Michigan, which is where the duo of Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J originate from as well, I was never really in ICP. I was more of an Eminem, whom they have plenty of beef with over the years. But regardless, I respected their work ethic and the nationwide moment they started. ICP has some of the most loyal fans in the Hip-Hop industry. And although I'm not generally a fan of the bulk of their music, I have to take their side on this one.

The law suit they're filing is with the the Department of Justice and the FBI, demanding that the agencies purge the fan name "Juggalos" from their list of gang members. The FBI's National Gang Intelligence Center has classified Juggalos as "a loosely-organized hybrid gang, one with multiple affiliations". ICP's suit claims that the FBI violated the Freedom of Information Act by failing to disclose adequate documentation justifying its gang classification, which is currently still pending.

Considering how many different types of Hip-Hop crews have a cult-like following, I have to admit, classifying any group of people as criminals based on the type of music they listen to is completely ludicrous. I personally have 2 different Wu-Tang Clan tattoos, so does that mean I sell drugs because the group has many songs talking about it? Not to mention, several household names have a past or current actual gang affiliation (Lil Wayne and the Game are both affiliated with the Bloods gang and Snoop Dogg/Snoop Lion is affiliated with the Crips gang).

Violent was quoted as saying:

We don't know if we can beat the FBI, but we're damn sure not gonna sit there and accept it."

I wish the best for ICP and their fans with this suit. It just seems unconstitutional to me. Justin Bieber, One Direction and the Wanted have some of the most loyal fans I know of and you never hear about things like this happening to them.
