What better way to the start of Independence Day 2013 then with the much anticipated release of Jay-Z's twelfth studio album, Magna Carta Holy Grail (MCHG). The album hit platinum status (1 million copies sold) before it was actually released due to a very lucrative deal with Samsung's mobile division which may completely change the way music is sold forever. Samsung made the album available as a free download (at midnight July 4th,2013) to the first 1 million customers that downloaded the app. It was reported, the Jigga-man earned a cool 20 million dollars on the deal with Samsung alone.

MCHG has few guest appearances (his wife, Beyonce', Justin Timberlake & Rick Ross), but the beat production was handled by a myriad of the Hip-Hop community's heavy hitters, such as Pharrell Williams, Timberland, Swiss Beats, Boi-1da, Mike-Will-Made-It and Rick Rubin.

The album will be available for purchase at retail stores, iTunes and Amazon on July 9th.
