Casper Man Admits to Sexually Assaulting Teenage Girl

A Casper man admitted Thursday to sexually abusing a teenage girl.

Joshua Hulse pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree sexual assault. He was originally charged with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor, but prosecutors amended the charges as part of a plea deal.

The deal does not contain a sentencing provision, meaning the state can argue for Hulse to be sentenced to 15 years in prison, the maximum penalty allowed by state statute.

Court documents say the victim -- who was between 13 and 15 years old at the time -- called Casper police in July 2016 to report the abuse.

The victim said she and Hulse had met through an online app and had sexual encounters on two occasions.

Police collected biological evidence.

Hulse reportedly told police he didn't remember the victim's name or age and that "it was just kind of an in-the-moment thing."

Hulse will be sentenced at a later date. He remains free on $25,000 bond.
