Justin Bieber is getting torn apart in the media for his bratty behavior in 2013, but his maternal grandmother, Diane Dale, is firmly Team Bieber. No ifs, ands or Biebs.

Dale and Bieber were seen embracing before his Wednesday (July 24) gig at the Canadian Tire Centre in his native country.

But hugs are not all she is doling out. She's putting anyone who dare criticize her baby in their place, getting protective of her grandson.

In a chat with CTV Ottawa, Dale said she was shocked at the amount of attention that her grandbaby is receiving. The formerly squeaky-clean singer is taking a drubbing in the press for exhibiting behavior normal for most teenage boys.

"It's totally crazy," she huffed. "I feel sorry for Justin all the time because paparazzi pick on him all the time. Anybody else's kids have done the same thing but nobody says anything."

Yeah, well anybody else's kids ain't Justin Bieber, the most famous and most Twitter-followed teen on the planet. Just sayin'.

Dale also suggested that those who live in glass houses be careful when casting stones. She said, "He's just a 19 year old boy. And before you criticize him, say, 'What is my 19-year-old boy doing?'"

You tell em, Grams!

Meanwhile, Biebs' mother Pattie Mallette, who recently addressed her son's image issues, has shut down questions about Bieber's antics while she promotes her new book. Um, people care about the Biebs' mom because she's… the Biebs' mom. She just pulled a Selena Gomez by shutting that line of questioning down.
