Say what you will about Justin Bieber, but the kid really listens to and looks out for his fans, especially those that are battling deadly diseases and chronic illnesses. The singer met with a cancer-stricken fan and shared photos on Twitter, which is not unusual for him. But what made this meeting so special was the fact that the fan, a girl named Crystal who is based in Edmonton (in his native Canada), got to meet the singer because fans trended #BieberforCrystal, and that's how she made it to the Biebs' radar.

So Biebs did a doubly good deed, and he was inspired by his Beliebers and the social media world which helped garner him fame. He thanked his fans for making him aware of Crystal, too, tweeting: "my fans are amazing. they made me aware of something. im gonna make good on it. #giveback."

While some might consider tweeting a photo of a good deed to be a shameless, publicity-seeking move, think about it this way: The Biebs has tens of millions of followers and he shared photos of himself with Crystal for all Internet to see. That probably made Crystal so happy during a very tough time in her life! Look at her smile in these photos. It's a beautiful thing.

In other Biebs news, an actual PR stunt worked. His 'Beauty and a Beat' video broke a VEVO record, nabbing 10.6 million views in 24 hours.

The VEVO official Twitter account posted the good news: "1) Congrats ‪@justinbieber‬ & ‪@NICKIMINAJ‬! ‪#BAAB24hrRecord‬ is YOURS! ‪http://vevo.ly/SOZ3HW ‬ Most ‪@VEVO‬ views in 24 hours!"

But more importantly, below is the Facebook update about the campaign for Crystal:

Dear Justin,

Right now you're in the same province I am living in, Alberta. This summer, my best friend Crystal Amber Montgomery was diagnosed with the cancer osteosarcoma in her left shoulder. Doctors did not believe that she was in pain for six months, and did not believe that Crystal felt a lump in her shoulder. Because of this, the cancer had already spread to her lungs when she was diagnosed. She is only 18 years old, and the youngest patient at the Cross Cancer Institute at the University of Alberta Hospital here in Edmonton, Alberta (where your concert is being held Monday October 15th at Rexall Place). Crystal has gone through seven vigorous chemotherapy treatments, and will someday undergo a life-changing surgery.

Crystal has always been talented at singing, participating as the lead in school musicals, solos in choir and having the honour to sing the canadian anthem at a couple Oil King's home games. Crystals family and friends, including myself, have contacted every radio station in Edmonton, newspaper and TV station with barely any replies to help me in my quest to help Crystal achieve her dream of meeting you. I know that this is almost impossible, but you're the one who says to believe. So here I am believing. It would mean the world to Crystal if you stopped even 5 minutes to see her, since she is too sick to leave the hospital and attend the concert like her and I had originally planned. She is one of your biggest fans, even having your poster in her hospital room. She has followed your music since you were an artist on Youtube, and is one of the first person I know to listen to your new singles and watch your music videos. All we want is for Crystal to remain strong, and with her idol coming to see her I cannot even imagine the inspiration it will bring her.

Please find it in your heart to make her dreams come true.
