Justin Bieber may have offended a lot of tween Beliebers by getting caught with a blunt, but the media-savvy Canuck is being pretty quick to distract his fanbase, whose attention span isn't always the lengthiest.

The 'Beauty and a Beat' singer got some new ink, because look! Pictures! Weed? What weed? Look at this picture!

Okay, so that wasn't the only reason. There was also a pretty sweet motive behind this new body art: Bieber got the Stratford Culliton logo etched on one of his shoulder blades in honor of his grandfather.

"My grandfather always took me to the stratford culliton every friday night this is for u Grampa ... My man @chenterios hooked it up," the hockey fan wrote on Instagram.

Wait, what the hell is a Stratford Culliton?

Turns out they're a junior league hockey team from Bieber's hometown, and his "grampa" took him to see them every weekend. The Native American chief is the team's mascot and logo, so don't go to Bieber's tour bus with pitchforks and torches about how racially insensitive he is. (Save that for Johnny Depp as Tonto.)

The ink is only the latest in a gallery of pieces that include a crown, Jesus Christ (he seems to like the dude), an owl (to encourage wisdom like "no cameras in the hotel room") and the word "Believe," because all publicity is good publicity. Especially when it's etched permanently onto your inner arm.
