Hear ‘Deconstructed’ Renditions of Kesha’s ‘Blow’ + ‘The Harold Song’

Kesha is proving once and for all that she can, in fact, sing her newly-toned butt off. The Cannibal Queen's 'Deconstructed' EP, a collection of stripped down tracks, showcases her vocal chops -- and two more tracks have leaked from the collection.

Fan favorite 'The Harold Song' takes an especially heartbreaking turn in the sparse, haunting, echoing arrangements Kesha has here. There are no vocal effects here, but as is the nature of K-Dollar Sign's signature lilt, her runs occasionally sound like Auto-Tuned corrections. In the original track, Kesha harmonizes with herself, but since she's on her own here with a raw, unedited vocal, she sometimes has to cut notes short from her verses to break into her choruses and vice versa.

'Blow' goes from a dance anthem to a piano-driven, haunting confessional. The lyrics, when accompanied by such sparse music and vocal arrangements, go from party-themed to frightening and violent: "We're pretty and sick / We're young and we're bored / It's time to lose your mind and let the crazy out / Tonight we're taking names 'cause we don't f--- around / This place about to blow."

‘Deconstructed‘ versions of 'Die Young' and 'Supernatural' have already leaked. Also included on the EP is a cover of Dolly Parton's ‘Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You,’ a song originally written by her Kesha's mom, Pebe Sebert.
