After less than two full seasons as head coach of the 16 time NBA Champions Los Angeles Lakers, Mike Brown has been fired. His loss of employment appears to stem from the Lakers lackluster start this season, after being only 1-4 since picking up guard Steve Nash from Phoenix & center Dwight Howard from Orlando.

Brown's firing is one of the fastest in Laker history, especially considering last season (Brown's first on the job) they went 41-25 and made it to the playoffs. Could there be tension with him and players, a la all-star with an attitude, Kobe Bryant? And what are the Lakers going to do about tonight's game against Golden State?

Apparently, assistant coach Bernie Bickerstaff will coach tonight's game, but who will fill the head coach position and how long will it take to find the right man for the job? There are already rumors floating around every form of media that now retired ex-head coach, Phil Jackson may be returning to the reigns. Only time will time.
