Already poised to become one of the breakout stars of 2012, Lana Del Rey has now bagged a modeling contract as well. The Telegraph reports that the 25-year-old has signed with Next Model Management.

Del Rey is signed to the agency’s “talent” wing, where she is joined by the likes of Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Alexa Chung and Alice Dellal. Del Rey has already spent time around the fashion industry, wearing the clothes of big-name designers in her videos and performing at the Mulberry’s show in New York. Her song ‘Video Games’ was used in multiple shows during London Fashion Week.

We’re looking forward to seeing what sort of projects might result from this new modeling deal. In the meantime, Del Rey’s major-label debut ‘Born to Die‘ drops on Jan. 31. She said of the record, “I think most of the songs verge on dark and beautiful. I mean, when I make a record, I’m not really going for a big show-stopping sound. I’ve been singing for so long now that you just end up writing for yourself and making it as personal as possible.”

The New York-born singer recently released an intentionally low-fi video for ‘Off to the Races,’ and she’s booked to play ‘Saturday Night Live’ on Jan. 14.
