I love barbecuing, I love beer, and I hate cancer. Now, I can combine all three of these things into one!

According to this story on foxnews.com:

Writing in the American Chemical Society’s Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, a group of European scientists found that beer marinades reduced the amount of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), the carcinogens known to form on meat when cooked at very high temperatures.

What does that mean? Basically, soaking your meat in beer before cooking it can help reduce potentially harmful aspects of it. Not that I need an excuse to cook with beer...I've been doing it for years! But now, I can sound smart when someone asks me why.

Science!
