Congratulations to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis! The duo accepted their American Music Award trophy for the Best Rap/Hip-Hop Album via satellite from Miami, and of course, Mack -- real name Ben Haggerty -- used his platform to draw attention to important social issues. His activism doesn't end at 'Same Love!'

Macklemore was moved by the victory. "Thank you to the AMAs, it has been an absolutely incredible year, I feel incredibly blessed," he began. He continued with "a great Martin Luther King quote" that his friend reminded him of: "'Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,'" Macklemore said. "Because we're in Florida tonight, I'd like to acknowledge Trayvon Martin and the kids who die every year because of racial profiling. It's time to take a stand against racism and the laws that protect it."

Deep! Congrats, Mack. You earned it!
