UPDATE:

The man who was shot soon after midnight Friday has been treated for his injuries and is reported to be in stable condition, according to a late Friday afternoon news release from the Casper Police Department.

Investigators learned the shooting occurred in a garage storage unit at 760 Landmark Lane, according to the news release from Sgt. Mike Ogden.

After speaking with several witnesses during the investigation, the Natrona County Special Response Team went to a house in the 3500 block of Gila Bend in west Casper about 10:30 a.m. The house is in Cottonwood Estates, which is northwest of Trevett Lane and Robertson Road.

Three individuals were located and taken to the Casper Police Department to be interviewed. The news release did not name the victim nor the three individuals. It did not give any other details about what lead to the shooting, or what, if any charges may be filed.

Meanwhile, neighbors were told to either stay in their homes, or if they left, to not return until after police finished their work, Ogden said earlier Friday.

The police department also put the nearby Oregon Trail Elementary School on lockdown.

Police also impounded had two vehicles: an late model orange Dodge Challenger with Colorado plates, and an older white Chevrolet Impala.

Neighbor Dustin Boatman said the people living in the home moved there about three months ago, and there were always cars parked around the residence.

Another neighbor, who did now wish to be identified, said the house has been the source of trouble for a while. Some of the people, mostly teenagers, had tried to break into his house a couple of times.

Neither Boatman nor the other neighbor said they knew the residents.

The shooting remains under investigation.
