It seems that everyone is looking to get some money for nothing. At least that's the way it looks at first glance. R&B crooner, Robin Thicke has filed for a declaratory judgment action. What does that mean? Basically Robin is afraid the Gaye family might sue him over his #1 smash hit single, "Blurred Lines" and this is a defensive action where he's looking for a judge to say he hasn't done anything wrong. Marvin Gaye III asked TMZ reporters why Thick would need to file this action if he were innocent to begin with. Touche'

Now when I first heard about this, I thought it was just another washed up artist/child of a superstar trying to get anything he could from one the industries heavyweights, for nothing! Because it is no secret, especially since Thicke has claimed several times to Marvin being the source to a lot of his musical inspiration in interviews, but copyright infringement, that might be a little much, right?

Maybe not. During the interview with Marvin's son, TMZ played a portion of Thicke's song, "Million Dollar Baby" and followed with Marvin Gaye's song, "Trouble Man". The two songs are almost identical. It's also been said more than a few times that Blurred Lines sounds a lot like Gaye's "Got To Give It Up".

Only time will tell how far this will go.
