People who get their morning jolt of caffeine from Starbucks are accustomed to the steep prices, but Logan Warren of the site Geek on Call may very well have found the exact combination necessary to create the most expensive Starbucks drink in the history of ever.

The tab? Almost $24.00.

Seems Logan had a coupon for a free Starbucks drink of his choice, and he enlisted the help of a friendly barista to max it out. He explains thusly:

I decided to take the opportunity to find out just how much money I could pour into a Trenta—Starbucks’ whopping 31 ounce cup! After about a half-hour with a laughing barista, we created the most expensive drink possible: one Java Chip Frappuccino in a Trenta cup, 16 shots of espresso, a shot of soy milk, caramel flavoring, banana puree, strawberry puree, vanilla beans, Matcha powder, protein powder, and a drizzle of caramel and mocha.

So how did the $23.60 concoction taste?  ”Tolerable, but not good,” Logan says. “Imagine a coffee-based health food smoothie that will put you in the hospital if you drink it all. That’s how it tastes … like Jillian Michaels with a touch of Chuck Norris.”

But the creative customer wisely decided against downing the whole thing. His bizarre creation had a whopping 1400mg of caffeine — more than three times the amount considered by experts as a “heavy dose.”

“If I drank this all at once,” Logan said, “it would put me in the hospital. Two of these would kill me.”

Thus becoming, we presume, the most alert ghost ever.
