Natrona County Fire District is sending resources to help fight a fast-growing wildfire in Albany County. Officials say Brush 7-4 has been assigned to the Badger Creek Fire in Southern Albany County. A crew of three firefighters was heading out Tuesday morning to assist with firefighting operations.

The Badger Creek Fire has burned 2,300 acres after it made a large, wind-driven run Monday on the Medicine Bow National Forest and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency has authorized the use of federal funds to help with firefighting costs for the fire. Some evacuations are in effect, at this time there is no confirmation that structures have been burned or destroyed.

Casper Fire-EMS also recently sent a three person crew to help fight the 416 Fire near Durango, Colorado.
