What's the best way to gain the country music worlds respect? Get arrested for drugs then make a country album, that's what Nelly is doing anyway.

He recently was arrested and now the word is out the Nelly may really be working on a country album? J. Erving who is co-president of his talent company told Billboard “He’s a free agent on the label side now, and is working on a country-based “Heartland” EP, which should be really interesting. He may be one of the first hip-hop artists to jump into that space in an authentic way with FGL and Tim McGraw  so we think he has an opportunity to grow that base even more.”

Will country music be welcoming of this? How will it sound? Questions a lot of people are wondering.
