The Super Mario game franchise has been around for 30 years, but the new Super Mario game for the Wii U really broke new ground.

Super Mario Maker, which was released last week, gives players the ability to construct their own levels – and see how their creations stack up against Nintendo’s developers.

The game even lets you switch between the slick graphics of today’s games and the 8-bit and 16-bit graphics of the classics.
