While Nick Jonas was a little thrown by his ex Miley Cyrus' engagement to Liam Hemsworth, reportedly penning the new Jo Bros song 'Wedding Bells' about it, he insists he could not be happier for his "friend" and her fiancé. No, seriously.

Last week, rumors swirled that Cyrus and Jonas, both 20, were going to reconcile because they reportedly had lunch. People don't chat and chew with their exes, right? Wrong! The two are said to be quite cordial, although neither admitted that they met for some grub.

"We’re really friendly," the baby of the Jo Bro trio told E! (via Hollywood Life.) He continued, "We’ve got a good relationship. I’m happy for her and Liam." So, Nick wasn't reveling over the news that the couple's relationship was on the rocks.

Either Nicky J. is really diplomatic, is terrific at burying his feelings, or he is truly happy for Miley. We'll believe it's the latter.

He did address the lunch-heard-round-the world, saying, "I think that it’s one of those things that it’s like, there are a lot of people that look like me I guess in that particular town. Maybe they’re running around meeting with Miley." He was playing a bit coy, now wasn't he? Cyrus flat out denied a lunch took place.

A source who claims to have witnessed the meet-up pointed out that it was devoid of any chemistry or heat between the two, saying, "[There was] absolutely no romantic vibe at all, at any time while they ate and while they were there. It seemed more like a meeting than a friendly chit chat or get together -- it was a more serious tone, based on their demeanor. They seemed to be having a business meeting -- they were on their phones and then they left without incident."

Alls well that ends well.
