Ariana Grande-Butera has made a name for herself since she first appeared as Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon television show Victorious which premiered in March 2010. The show's last episode aired on February 2nd, 2013. Luckily for the 19 year-old Italian-American actress/songstress, Nickelodeon had already begun a spin-off of iCarly & Victorious entitled Sam & Cat, where she reprises her previous role.

Grande is currently working on her first studio album, Daydreamin', which she hopes to have completed by September of this year (2013). The lead single is "The Way" featuring rapper Mac Miller. The song samples the Big Pun hit "Still Not A Player" which featured R&B singer Joe.

"The Way" has been well received by critics, with some comparing Grande's vocals to those of Mariah Carey and it holds the second-highest first-week sales figure of 2013, behind "Suit & Tie" by Justin Timberlake featuring Jay-Z. Talking about entering the music biz with her big girl shoes on. Could it be? Nickelodeon might start leading the way in young singing sensations, taking the thunder away from Disney (see: Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Selena Gomez & Miley Cyrus). Well, maybe not yet, but Ariana sure is making her presence known. You go girl!!!
