One person was taken to a hospital Thursday afternoon following a crash involving two commercial vehicles on Interstate 80 in southern Wyoming.

According to the Uinta County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred in the westbound lanes near milepost 9. Judging by photos posted by the sheriff's office, two commercial trucks were involved in a head-on style crash.

The driver who required hospitalization was taken to Evanston Regional with minor injuries. Uinta County Fire and Ambulance says crews worked for some 25 minutes to extricate a dog that was trapped following the crash.

The dog was taken to a local vet in good condition. The roadway reopened at about 2:30 p.m.

No details regarding the cause of the crash were immediately available.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol and Evanston Fire Department were also at the scene after 2 p.m. The Patrol is investigating the crash.
