According to Cinemablend Pixar has decided to change the ending to their upcoming blockbuster 'Finding Dory' following a very controversial documentary about Sea World that's gaining a lot of steam online. 'Blackfish' is the documentary that is an in depth look at Orcas and the possible psychological problems they face in captivity. It follows the events leading up to and following the death of Dawn Brancheau, the Sea World trainer that was killed in 2010. The documentary researches the keeping and training of Orcas at Sea World. I can tell you that I definitely will be checking this documentary out, below I have the trailer for you.

You may be wondering what does all this have to do with Finding Dory? Well in Finding Dory the conclusion is set in a Sea World style marine park, where the fish all end up. The uproar that this documentary has started, caused Pixar to rewrite the ending so “that part of the story [has been restructured] so that the fish and mammals taken to its aquatic center have the option to leave.” Said the New York Times However even after all of this is said and done the main storyline of Finding Dory still remains a mystery.

As lame as it may sound, something you may not know about me is growing up I always wanted to be a marine biologist, and was fascinated with sea creatures, Manatees, Dolphins, and Orcas were my three favorite. I read books upon books about those animals. What I'm trying to say is things like this have always really struck a chord with me for some reason, and I guess that's why I felt it was necessary to share this with you. You can take from it what you will, but I can say I think it was an excellent move on Pixars part to change the ending of the movie to be sensitive to the issues this movie has raised.

Here is the trailer for the controversial documentary, Blackfish.
