Casper police are investigating a brief high-speed motorcycle chase Tuesday night, Sgt. Mike Ogden said Wednesday.

At 8:53 p.m., an officer reported the rider fled during a traffic stop near CY Avenue and Paradise Drive in Paradise Valley, Ogden said.

The unidentified rider, 27, drove north at an unknown, but high rate of speed on Paradise Road, was pursued for probably less than a minute, and then fell off the motorcycle, he said. He was wearing a helmet and did not have a passenger.

However, he was injured and taken to the Wyoming Medical Center for treatment, Ogden said. The extent of his injuries is unknown, he added.

He probably will be charged at a later date with violations including failing to have registration and eluding police, Ogden said.
