The massive snowstorm that hit Casper is one for the record books. The National Weather Service reports 16.2 inches of snow fell at Casper/Natrona County International Airport, marking the 10th snowiest snowstorm since records began in 1937.

With 11.3 inches falling on Friday, it breaks the record for daily snowfall on October 4th, which had stood at 3.2 inches since 2005.

In addition to the snow, a temperature record was broken. The record coldest high temperature for October 4th in Casper had been 37 degrees, which was recorded in 1969. Friday’s high of only 31 degrees broke that mark.

It is already the 4th wettest October on record.
