A Mills woman who pleaded guilty to incest last year was sentenced to prison Wednesday after violating terms of her probation.

Natrona County District Court Judge Thomas Sullins granted the petition from the probation and parole department to revoke Robin Keene's six-year probation, and sentence her to three-and-a-half to six-and-a-half years at the Wyoming Women's Center in Lusk.

Keene, who was 33 at the time of her sentencing on May 12, 2015, had pleaded guilty to one felony count of incest. She also had pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of child endangering, was sentenced to six months in jail and that time already had been served.

Sullins sentenced her to a four- to seven-year prison term, with all time suspended, and instead ordered her to spend six years in an Intensive Supervised Probation program.

But on March 9, the probation and parole office filed the petition to revoke the probation because she repeatedly violated her curfew, did not pay her financial obligations to the court of $20 a month since October, and terminated her ISP program by not participating in sex offender counseling.

Wednesday, Keene said she agreed with the allegations in the petition.

Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Hambrick said Keene struggled through the strict terms of the probation, and she should be sentenced to the three-and-a-half to six-and-a-half year sentence.

Public Defender Rob Oldham said Keene found herself in a bizarre situation and made a horrible decision. This was her first brush with the law, he said.

Keene was overwhelmed with the demands of Intensive Supervised Probation and just gave up, Oldham said. Prison would be a better fit than probation, but only for two to four years, he said. "She needs some time for self reflection."

Keene declined to comment.

Sullins agreed with Hambrick's sentence recommendation, and said it was unfortunate that probation didn't work out.

The case began in September 2014, when sheriff's deputies received a report from a counselor about a girl who had been sexually assaulted by her grandfather, later identified as 53-year old Glenn Towner.

This girl and other granddaughter told Keene about the sexual contacts with Glenn Towner. Keene confronted Towner, who had married her mother.

However, she later said she had a consensual sexual relationship with Towner, who with his wife Doris received prison terms.
