Perhaps not realizing that his own drug and domestic abuse issues set the tone for his daughter's relationships, Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, is totes cool with her getting back together with Chris Brown.

You know, the same dude who beat her beyond recognition in 2009. No, really, it's fine -- he has really good manners, so that makes it okay.

"Chris made a mistake ... a terrible one. But I'm a great believer that everybody deserves a second chance and Chris is no different," Fenty told The Sunday Mirror (via The Sun).

"Everybody goes wrong at some point. I certainly have," he admitted. But it is how you come back and live your life which is important. And as long as she is happy then so am I."

Fair enough, but how many people go that wrong and keep demonstrating their own douchebaggery over and over again?

"Everybody has had their say about her and Chris but it is up to her to find her own way," Fenty said. "Chris has always been polite and kind to me and treated me with respect. That's all you can ask from your daughter's boyfriend."

You know what else is a good way for a boyfriend to show his girlfriend's dad respect beyond saying "please" and "thank you"? Not beating the snot out of her. Most dads really appreciate that. But apparently it matters to some more than to others.
