A man and woman were found safe after being stranded in a snow drift about 70 miles west of Casper earlier this week, according to a Natrona County Sheriff's Office incident report.

Harold Porter was reported missing Tuesday morning after he failed to return from inspecting wells at the Raderville Oil Fields on Monday.

Deputy Sgt. Chad Frimml checked Porters' address and did not find him nor his red Chevrolet Cavalier. Frimml and Deputy Cory Brooks then went to the Radarville Oil Field.

The deputies found the car stuck in a snow drift at a Nucor Oil and Gas Inc. pump jack station about 3.5 miles west of Gas Hills Road.

Porter and the woman, Sherry Cochrun, were inside the Cavalier with three dogs. The deputies checked them for exposure and determined they did not need medical attention.

The deputies notified the dispatch center, which in turn told them Cochrun had an outstanding warrant and she was taken into custody.

"Porter had used a shovel to dig his vehicle out of the snow drift," according to the sheriff's office report. "Sergeant Frimml followed Porter out to Highway 20-26 while Deputy Brooks transported to the Natrona County Detention Center and booked her in on the outstanding warrant."
