The Natrona County Prevention Coalition will be hosting their annual Step Up for Kids Day on Thursday, November 5th, 2015 at 5:30pm at the 12-24 Club.

Step Up for Kids Day is a national event held to educate attendees about serious challenges many American children face and how it is important that our government continue to invest in children. The event will highlight our call to action; preventing substance abuse in the community through the use of the Talk Early and Often campaign. Underage drinking has serious effects and has been found to be a leading factor in the top three causes of death among youth in Wyoming. Further, underage drinkers consume nearly 20% of alcohol sold in the state.

Attendees will receive a t-shirt and a magnet highlighting Talk Early and Often techniques. Community vendors will have booths containing information about their services. Light appetizers will be available for the first 75 people and attendees will be entered into a drawing; two attendees will each win a $100.00 Visa gift card.

Along with the magnets highlighting Talk Early and Often, stickers with the same information will be distributed throughout the community via placement on liquor boxes. The placement of stickers and magnet aims to bring our call to action and use of the Talk Early and Often campaign, to the community at large.
