The Casper Police Department has identified the man arrested after a significant law enforcement presence in Glenrock and Casper, forcing the closure of I-25 before a standoff at a Casper business Saturday night.

Christopher Eads, 34, is the suspect. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is working the case, and has not released further details. The circumstances which led to Saturday's standoff, and the charges on which Eads was arrested, remain largely unclear.

However, we do know that a woman was arrested in Glenrock, reportedly in connection with the incident.

Glenrock police asked residents to stay inside and lock their doors for a period of time on Saturday. Law enforcement vehicles blocked I-25 ramps in the Casper area as well.

Police ended up closing I-25 in both directions. Traffic signs warned drivers of a "armed fugitive" in the area, and asked people to avoid picking up hitchhikers.

Officers ultimately found Eads in a vehicle at Dayton Transmission in Casper. A standoff ensued, and the Natrona County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team was activated.

The standoff ended after 2 a.m. Sunday, when Eads was arrested.

We are pursuing further details, and will update this story as we learn more.
