Crime of the Week

Facebook accounts are getting hacked. Facebook users are notified they have won money. When the user responds, they are advised they need to send a certain dollar amount to an account in order to receive their winnings. This is a scam!

On July 27th, several residences in the 3500 block of Aspen Lane reported their properties had been vandalized with white spray paint. Images of flower faces and boxes with lines were painted on the properties.

The Casper Police Department would like to warn citizens about the IRS Scam that is still occurring.

Sometime between June 11th and 12th, an air compressor and several construction tools were stolen from a trailer parked 6752 Rogue River Road. The stolen items value exceeds $10,000.

On Wednesday, June 15th at 9:25 in the morning, a green colored SUV, similar to a Nissan Pathfinder, ran a stop sign at East 2nd Street and South Jackson.

Over the past couple of weeks there have been several suspicious fires in the Casper area. If you have any information on these fires, please call the Casper Police Department or Casper Fire EMS.

The Casper Police Department would like to remind people to report any suspicious people or activity that they may observe.

This past weekend, the Casper Police Department took several reports of vehicles being broken into and items taken out of them. The vehicles were parked in the Meadowlark Drive area.

On April 16th, 2016, at 2:15 in the morning a red colored SUV or pickup struck the rear end of a 2016 GMC pickup parked in front of 1764 Kearney Avenue.

With the nicer weather approaching and school getting out, the Casper Police Department sees an increase in vehicles being broken into. Please remember to lock your vehicle at all times and take valuable items inside at night.

Sometime between March 20th and 26th, 2016, in the 400 and 500 block of North Lowell Street, several vehicles were broken into and items were taken out of them. One of the vehicles had a window broken.

In the last month, the Casper Municipal Golf Course, located at 2120 Allendale Blvd, has been vandalized five times. Someone has been throwing rocks through windows causing damage to the windows. Total damage so far is over $1000.00.
