As the Academy prepares to pay tribute to James Bond during next month's 2013 Oscar ceremony, the show's producers recently announced that one of the movie franchise's most memorable songs, the nominated "Skyfall," will be performed on stage by Adele. We are already marking this down as a "must see" moment of the night.
'Skyfall' has become a monster hit, and is on track to be the most successful Bond film of all time (unadjusted, natch), as it's already crossed $100 Million domestically, is over half a billion worldwide, and shows no signs of stopping. A report circulated that 'Skyfall' screenwriter John Logan (who we know is returning for the series' next installment) had secretly plotted a two-part plot line for 'Bond 24' and '25,' which would be a rather major turn of events. When UK television host Jonathan Ross recently asked singer Adele about her upcoming projects, the soul superstar may have said a bit too much.
“It is actually a theme … wow, that’s really giving something away!” she said, quickly covering her mouth. As Ross hummed the iconic James Bond theme song, she conceded, “It’s a concept. One song.”
